Black Pearl Pepper Plant
by Kerry
I have a beautiful, well established Black Pearl Pepper plant that was given to me by a friend.
I water it weekly, but am finding that the pepper are shriveling up quite quickly - can you tell me if I am over or under watering to cause this, or is this normal. Also, it sits in a West window for the winter season (I am located in Northern Central Wisconsin area).
Thank you
Plant Guides Answer:
I think what is happening is that the peppers are simply drying on the plant.
You can leave them in place, if you like the way they look, but this will keep the ornamental pepper plant from making new peppers. What the plant is doing is ripening seed and completing its life cycle.
You can use the seeds inside the dried peppers to propagate the plant.
