Feeding Deciduous Fruits

by Mike

When do I start to feed apple pear and peach trees kept in large pots, and how often do I repeat it i.e at what interval do I feed, thanks.

Botanical Journeys Plant Guides

When and how much you feed a deciduous fruit tree depends on the age and size of the tree.

As a general rule, they are never fed during dormancy. Fertilizer is applied in spring, summer and fall.

Fruit trees growing in pots will almost always need to be fed at least 3 times per growing season whereas trees in the ground may do well with fewer feedings.

Fertilizing Apple Trees gives much more detailed instructions than I can give here.
