How to Get Cut Roses to Open

My husband got me roses for Valentine's Day. they will not open up! can I make this happen?

Botanical Journeys Plant Guides

Cut roses will open over a period of several days on their own.

This is not a bad thing.

The longer it takes your roses to open, the longer you get to enjoy your Valentine's Day gift.

Keeping the roses in a cool room will slow the opening of the flowers. Exposure to heat will speed it up.

If you really want the rose flowers to open more quickly, keep them in a warm room.
