I have a Phalaenopsis, Moth Orchid I think it's dying.

My Phalaenopsis, Moth Orchid leaves got yellow and fall off. However it has leaves at the top of the stem and I want to know if I can cut that part off and re plant it.

Help me. I love my plant.

Plant Guides Answer:

Look at the roots. If they are alive and healthy, the Moth orchid is probably not dying.

It is normal for the old leaves of any plant to turn yellow and drop off.

It is possible that your orchid needs to be repotted but I do not advise cutting the top of the plant off and replanting just that portion as the chances of it surviving such an operation are slim.
