Recipe for Banana Nut Bread
with Chocolate Chips

You can substitute traditional chocolate chips for the M&M's if you don't have them or want a less colorful loaf.
Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Bread Dry Ingredients1 1/3 cups all-purpose or bread flour3/4 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon baking soda1/4 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon2/3 cup white sugar plus 1 teaspoon1 tablespoon light brown sugar
7 tablespoons soft butter2 large eggs2 or 3 ripe bananas (about a cup)

Baking Instructions for Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Bake the bread in a 1-1.5 quart loaf pan in the bottom half of the oven.
- Cream the butter, 2/3 cup of the white sugar and 1 tablespoon of the brown sugar together with a spoon. Add the bananas and mash them into the butter with a potato masher. Now add the eggs. Beat until all the ingredients are well incorporated. The mixture does not need to be smooth.
- Now add the remaining dry ingredients (except for the teaspoon of white sugar) and stir the batter up well. You need to make sure that the salt, baking soda and baking powder are evenly distributed or the bread will have bitter spots.
- Now stir in the walnuts and M&M's Mini Baking Bits.
- Scrape the batter into a buttered loaf pan. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the top of the batter and bake it until it is done (45-60 minutes). Let it cool before you slice it.
