I was raised in Montreal and every summer, as a tradition, my mother would take me on a nature tour. We would visit the Botanical Gardens and then the Biodome.


The Montreal Botanical Garden is my favorite for sentimental reasons, of course, but its also 80 years old and one of the biggest botanical gardens in the world.

They have many display gardens but my favorites are the Aquatic Gardens and the Chinese Gardens.

The Jardin Boutanique de Montreal is big but you can stroll the whole place in about 5 hours or choose to visit just some of the gardens. You can also visit the Montreal Biodome nearby which allows you to walk through replicas of four ecosystems found in the Americas.
